Deuteronomy 30:19 “I call heaven and earth to record this day against you that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing. Therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live.”
I recently started this journey of choosing how I feel and what I want to hear. It is a fascinating experience and it has transformed my life. I believe the greatest power that we have been given is the power of choice. We can choose how we want to live our lives. This is what God meant when He desired to create us in His image and His likeness. We were created to look like God and to function like God.
There is a very interesting verse that sums this up. It is in Deuteronomy 30:19. The Bible says we have been given the choice between life and death, blessings and curses. It goes further to point us in the right direction and say “choose life, that we and our seed may live”. Your seed is not just referring to children of siblings, your seed is anything that you plan to do or accomplish in this life.
This means the events that control your life are not what happens to you or around you but your response to the things that happen around you.
Choose who you want to meet. Make a determination of the friends you want to keep and get rid of those friends who come into your life to drain you and suck the life out of you. Many years ago, we decided as a family that we will serve the Lord and keep His word no matter what came our way. We have been faced with numerous challenges and sometimes it feels as though God is far away from us, but we made a choice to hang onto the word of God until it produces fruits in our lives.
I am forever grateful that the word of God is my peace. You know, you are only as strong as the thing that supports you. This is why I do not trust in the wisdom of this world; it is because it has found to fail. I do not put my trust in the riches of men/women because they fade away. As a family, I place my trust in the word of God that lives and abides forever. The word of God is a seed that is incorruptible; this means it has no defects (1 Peter 1:23). There is no defective born again believer in this world. As a believer in Christ, your seed shall bear fruits and overflow in Jesus name.
Pray this prayer out loud:
Father, I thank you because I am not a defective believer. I am born of a seed that is without sickness, disease, poverty or lack. I am destined to accomplish greater things in this life. I triumph over the enemy every day as I bask I the glory of God. I receive from your word that says I choose life; and I choose life for me and my seed today in the name of Jesus
Shalom Shalom !!!
