Romans 12:4-5 “For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office: So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.”

The reason we cannot have successful marriages today is that when two people get married, they care more about what is in for them. When two selfish people get together, their marriage does not serve any purpose, they quickly get a list of “what I like” and starts blaming one another saying “you didn’t do this” or “you didn’t do that”; because their focus is not on giving, their focus is on receiving. A selfish daddy and a selfish mama will produce a selfish child and everybody in the house will be fighting for stuff because nobody in the house has been taught how to serve.

Gone are those days where we trained up our children to serve and shared up responsibilities and say it’s your job to take out the trash, it’s your job to wash the dishes and it’s your job to dry the dishes. We are not training our family members to serve anymore, we are only training people to eat and consume. When these children grow up with the wrong mindset, they won’t know how to do anything else but consume. This is why when life demands any kind of service from people, they feel that they’ve been abused or mistreated and the world has turned against them. Most parents have prepared their children for a world that does not exist.

This is what our text for today is referring to. It says we have many members in one body and all these members do not have the same office. This office refers to assignments. We are all in Christ but we have individual purpose and roles in the body of Christ. This is what a family of purpose is about. We are called to identify various offices in the body and fulfil our purpose within these offices. The ministry is an environment for you to start exercising your purpose. Don’t give up!

I am a member of the heavenly family of Christ. The body of Christ is my permanent family. I have a purpose and a role to play in the body of Christ. The family of God is my field of influence. I am determined this month to achieve my purpose in the name of Jesus Amen.

With love,
