The wisdom to reign – God in the storm

The inhabitants of the city of Cape Town are currently restricted to use a maximum of 50 litres of water per day for:

  • Washing,
  • Drinking,
  • Brushing their teeth,
  • Cooking,
  • Washing their clothes,
  • Flushing their toilets,
  • Drinking coffee,
  • Cleaning their homes.

We recently witnessed whites and blacks queuing to fetch water. The rich and the poor are queuing to get their daily water ration.
Have you ever seen a convertible Jaguar packed by the roadside to fetch 15 litres of water from the communal taps? We see it happening here in the Cape Town city.

The shops have run out of bottled water. Farms are sold for cheap because there is no water. Schools are on the brink of closure because of deteriorating hygienic conditions.

Let this be a wake-up call to Capetonians that there is someone reigning in heaven. He gives and takes away at will. He makes the rich and the poor to crawl for water. He is God, He controls the Heavens and the earth. He can make a city vanish from the face of the earth. Ignore Him at your own peril.

For too long Capetonians have been running marathons on Sundays, abandoning the House of God and worshipping money instead of God. He has something that money can’t buy. There is a massive day of prayer planned for the City which everyone wants to attend.

Zechariah 10:11  “Ask rain from the LORD at the time of the spring rain– The LORD who makes the storm clouds; And He will give them showers of rain, vegetation in the field to each man.”

The Bible says we should ask rain from the Lord. He is the one who controls the heavens and He makes the storm cloud. We saw clouds that gathered in the city of Cape Town but there was no storm. This is a time for the saints of God to ask for the Lord to gather the storm cloud and let it storm in Cape Town.

Prayer

Father, I thank you because you have given us rain. You are the Lord who gathers the storm cloud. You reign from everlasting to everlasting. May your name be praised at the four corners of this city in the mighty name of Jesus.

Are you facing a drought in your city?

Have you been in a spiritual drought? Let me know and I will pray for you.

Keep reigning in life,
