You are more than a Zodiac sign. You are created in the image and glory of God.
1 Peter 1:24 “For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away.”
When you look at yourself in the mirror, who do you see? Do you see a tall, short, thin, fat round etc person? How do you describe yourself? This is a fundamental question in life because most people do not really know who they are. Some have taken up the identities of their nation; others have taken up their family identity while some even identify themselves with a particular zodiac sign. As a child of God, this should not be your nature. You are born from above and you are here to fill this earth with the glory of God. Whenever people ask me who I am, without even thinking I just reply “I am a spirit filled, Bible taught, tongue talking spirit”.
Our text verse for today says all flesh is as grass and they wither away; it also says all the glory of man is as the flower that falls away. This means there is the glory of men and the glory of God. The word glory means dignity, praise, worship or honour. This verse is saying that the honour that comes from men fades away and falls down like the grass and flowers in the field. Do not seek honour from men like some people often do. This honour is what you see when men start worshipping leaders, music stars or politicians. As a child of God 1 Peter 1:23 says the glory that you have comes from the seed of God that lives forever.
When you are conscious that your glory cannot be bought and cannot be transferred, you will not buy what is fashionable; rather whatever you put on becomes fashionable. When you are aware of the glory of God, you will walk differently, you will sit differently and whenever people try to criticize you, it will be like water on a duck’s back; you will just shake it off and move on. This is your day to shine even brighter and flourish in glory.
Father, fill me with more of your glory. I need your glory to heal the sick, cast out demons and raise the dead. I am walking in the beauty of your kingdom and wherever I go; your glory goes with me. I do not seek after the glory of men but after your glory. The plans and purpose for my life are eternal and nothing can cause me to drift away from this plans. I am wonderfully and fearfully made in Jesus’ name; Amen.
