Do not define your life by the things of the flesh. Here is what the Bible says:
Romans 8:5-10 “For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh, but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace… But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you… And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.”
There is a striking reality about the new creation that I pray it soaks in your spirit. The new creation is not a white-washed man/woman, he/she is not the saved man/woman; the new creation is a new specie of being that never existed before. In 2 Corinthians 5:17 it says “if any man/woman be in Christ he is a new creation, old things are passed away and see all things have become new”. The believer in Christ is a spirit man/woman, he/she is not the man/she that was born from his parents, no. He now belongs to a new family of beings different from what he was naturally born with.
Our text verse shows us that the carnal man minds the things of the flesh (what they would wear, drink and eat) but the spirit man minds the things of the Spirit. It says you are not in the flesh but in the spirit and the Spirit of God dwells or lives in you. Hallelujah! Let Christ arise in your life and all the sickness, poverty, frustration and hereditary curses shall be disabled in your life for good. In 2 Corinthians 5:16 the Bible says “Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh…” This means when you are born again you are no longer known by the things you do in the flesh but by what you do in the spirit. Start operating in the spirit today and unleash the power of God in your life.
A friend once reminded me of how we used to play soccer when we were children and how he wished that we went back to those days. I just told him I don’t remember playing soccer because the soccer player died and a new creation was born. Consider yourself this way because you are a spirit.
Dear Father, I thank you for making me a new creation. I am a spirit man in a human body. I function in the realm of the spirit in Jesus name. Amen.
