Who are you in Christ?

Who are you? Do you know who you really are? Here is what the Bible says:

2 Corinthians 5:17 “If any man be in Christ, he is a new creation; old things are past away; behold all things are become new”

The identity of the Christian has been one of the greatest questions of our time. There are lots of people who do not know who a Christian is; they do not understand how we function and what we are made of. From our text verse, we note that the Christian is a new creation. This is the cardinal point which every Christian must understand and function in. The Bible states in John 10:10 that we have become a new creation with a new kind of life and this life is not human it is called Zoë – the God life.

A Christian lives from the inside out; in Eph 4:22-24 it says “That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lust; and be renewed in the spirit of your mind; and that ye put on the new man, who after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. In 2 Peter 1:4 it states that the new creation is a new man created with God’s divine nature of righteousness and Holiness, which are his attributes.

A Christian is born of God. He has become the son of God and he is born again. He is born this time of a different father, not the earthly father but the heavenly Father through God’s seed which is the word of God (John 1:13). That is why the Bible says all things about the new creation are of God. Apostle John said (1 John 3:1) behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed upon us that we may be called the sons of God.  This is the picture of a Christian so never doubt the power you have in you.

Father, I thank you for making me your son. Thank you for sending Jesus to take my place. I will rejoice in my new nature always; I am conscious of divinity at work in me every day of my life. In the name of Jesus. Amen
