You have dominion over inanimate objects

Human beings struggle to understand the concept of faith and dominion because they are not accustomed to speaking to inanimate objects. I recently watched my son speaking to his toys and his lego blocks as though he was speaking to another human being. This took me back to the scripture and the Lord opened my eyes to what Jesus did.

Do you know that Jesus also spoke to inanimate objects as if He spoke to human beings? He was once hungry and He came to a fig tree that looked fresh and appeared as if it had fruits on it. But when Jesus approached the fig tree, He found out that the fig tree only had leaves but had no fig. Jesus was not happy with that tree so He spoke to the tree that no man would eat of it ever again.

Mark 11:12-14 “ Now the next day, when they had come out from Bethany, He was hungry. And seeing from afar a fig tree having leaves, He went to see if perhaps He would find something on it. When He came to it, He found nothing but leaves, for it was not the season for figs. In response Jesus said to it, “Let no one eat fruit from you ever again.” And His disciples heard it.

The last phrase of this passage says: “His disciples heard it”. This means that the fig tree did not hear it and could not respond to Jesus. Most people want to speak to someone who would nod his head or speak back. We are used to speaking to animals and birds who will act and respond while we speak. But in the realm of spiritual dominion, you have to master the art of speaking to things that can’t respond to you. Jesus spoke to a tree; in this day and age, He will be regarded as a madman for speaking to a tree. Let us see what happened to the tree that had no ear and no eyes.

Mark 11:20-24Now in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots. And Peter, remembering, said to Him, “Rabbi, look! The fig tree which You cursed has withered away.” So Jesus answered and said to them, Have faith in God. For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.

The Bible says the next morning, the tree that Jesus cursed had withered away from the roots. This means our assumption that a tree had no ears and no eyes was incorrect because we just saw that the tree had dried up the next morning. This means the tree responded to the words of Jesus. The tree had to hear something in order to respond. You and I may not see the eyes of trees or the ears of trees but rest assured, they respond to your words. There are things that respond to our words even though we consider them as inanimate things. This is what Jesus meant when He said have faith in God.

The phrase “Have faith in God” in the original Greek text says “echo pistis Theo“. Echo means to hold, possess or have in hand. The Greek word “pistis” means faith and “Theo” means God. So, if we transliterate this phrase, it would read “Have faith God”. But we note that the word “in” was not in the original Greek writings. So if we read this correctly, it is saying that “Have God’s faith“. The manner in which it requires us to have God’s faith is to hold it as a tool and use it. Just as a soldier holds his sword and uses it for battle, we are also instructed to hold and use God’s faith.

This is what God’s faith is all about; to know that all things that exist on this earth obey the voice of God.

Join me in this prayer right now. Claim every word in it as yours and receive it now.

Pray aloud:

Father, I take hold of God’s faith right now. The faith that was handed to Abraham is mine. I am a partaker of the divine nature. I speak to the winds and the waves to obey the voice of God this morning. I speak to all financial institutions to open their doors for me and grant me free access to the wealth of this earth. I speak to inventions to follow me and work for me. I create new things today in the name of Jesus. Amen.

If you have prayed this prayer, write to us and we will pray for you and send you materials that will bless you.

Take dominion now!!!
